Fourth Grader Expertly Outsmarts Test Question By Calling Upon Girl Code

The internet has been blessed with some pretty epic test answers in our time. Who could forget the student who when asked: ‘What is your favourite hue?’ Expertly answered: ‘Jackman.’ Or the six-year-old who shared her hysterical words of wisdom on a fiendishly difficult math problem. Now we have another child to add to the list of pupils who have outsmarted both their test papers and their teachers. Giving us a good chuckle in the process.

Fourth grader Maddy Douglas called upon girl code to help her tackle this troublesome question, the answer is too clever for its own good. Maddy’s mother, Jenn Douglas, posted this photo to the HuffPost Parents’ Facebook page accompanied by the hashtag #GirlCodeTrumpsCommonCore.

Jenny told the Huffington Post, I consider myself to be a completely open-minded type person and as a single mom, try to teach my children about equality and about different types of people they will encounter. But my first reaction was it was not an appropriate question for a fourth grader or really any grade.

And she isn’t the only one who feels this way:

Outside of the debate over the appropriateness of the question, by the looks of all the viral attention, Maddy’s answer has been pretty well received:
