After what they did for their little girl I must say that Tanya and Adam Phillips are some of the best parents of all time! See what happened was their 18 month old girl was born with a rare dark red birthmark which covers her leg and most of the right side of her body. While they loved her no matter what, they knew that others may not always be so accepting of someone who looks different.
Tanya has always made sure to cover her daughter’s legs when they went out, but decided to put her in shorts one hot day this past summer. While they were out she heard an older couple whispering to themselves.
“And I knew if adults could be that insensitive, then kids at school would also be unintentionally mean.”
That’s why Tanya had an idea so that Honey-Rae wouldn’t feel so alone. The mom and dad would get matching tattoos on their own bodies of their daughter’s birthmark to let her know she will always have their love.
The birthmark tattoo cost around $124 and two and a half hours to complete; Adam says at times it was extremely painful. However it was all worth it when he showed the little girl his new “birthmark” on his leg. He says;
“When the swelling went down, I showed Honey-Rae, and she gently touched it and smiled as she said ‘Match,’ pointing to her own leg.”
