When all else fails….”now watch me whip…now watch me nae nae!” Worked for this mom!
Mother-to-be, Akilah Wooten went to the Atlanta Medical Center with every intention of delivering her baby that day. The baby didn’t get the memo, though.
“She came in labor but the baby was sitting high on her pelvis.” said Angela Ruffin, the certified nurse midwife, who also filmed the video of Wooten, her sister, and her cousin dancing.
Sometimes when babies are not ready to enter the world and need a little pre-push, moms-to-be are advised to walk. But this was a game changer! To stimulate Akilah’s labor, the trio danced to Silento’s hit, “ Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae).”
“I told her to get moving and walk or do some squats, but then I didn’t see her for awhile.” Ruffin recounts. “I rounded the corner and there she was with her sister and cousin dancing. I had to film it.”
A few hours later, Wooten gave birth to a baby girl weighing in at 9 pounds, 6.5 ounces.
