When a mom had spent days in the hospital with her 9-week-old son, the last thing she needed was another hurdle, this one both financial and inconvenient. As she was leaving the hospital, she noticed something everyone dreads seeing: a parking ticket. Way to add insult to injury, right?
However, when she unfolded the ticket, she noticed something amazing inside: a note written by a stranger named Laura.
“Over the past few days I have been in hospital with my 9 week old son. We were discharged today and as I walked to my car I noticed that I had a parking ticket. After those days in hospital, a parking ticket was one more thing that I didn’t need,” she wrote in a Facebook post.
“Well to my surprise, when I opened the envelope there was a note from a lovely lady named Laura. I hope that Laura sees this and knows how much I appreciate her support. Thank you so much,” she said. The post was then shared almost 15,000 times. We have a feeling Laura has gotten wind of the gratitude.
The note said: “I saw your car had a parking ticket on it. I’m sure whatever you are going through at hospital is tough enough so I have paid for you. Hope things get better!”
This reminds me of the generous prank where people thought they got parking tickets, but actually got a few bucks instead!
It’s such a simple gesture but it can really make you feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders.
