Charlie Sheen has been revealed to be the Hollywood actor diagnosed HIV-positive, a major US website claims.
The star is set to talk to America’s Today programme in the morning but US website Radar have revealed his identity ahead of his appearance.
Speculation was mounting Sheen was to be named this week by a US magazine as living with the disease.
But today producers of the breakfast show took to Twitter to announce they were interviewing the actor.
“Tomorrow on Today: @charliesheen talks to @MLauer in a live revealing interview .”
On their website it said the Anger Management actor would “appear live in Studio 1A.”
Anchor Matt Lauer is Today’s highest profile interviewer on the show previously landing Pippa Middleton’s first chat.
News of the interview led RadarOnline and its sister magazine the National Enquirer to name the actor today.
The website read: “After an exhaustive 18-month investigation, the ENQUIRER reveals the sex-crazed 50-year-old actor, who has a long history of sleeping with porn stars, strippers and groupies of both sexes, is now desperate to cover up his medical crisis, and it’s costing him millions.
It went on, ‘quoting a close friend of the star’ who said: “Charlie thought he was indestructible and took no precautions – even though he was indulging in high-risk sex practices.”
Sheen, who has boasted of sleeping with more than 5,000 women, is alleged to have confessed his illness to almost a dozen sources.
The magazine also disclosed allegations Sheen’s ex-wife, Brooke Mueller, he “potentially” infected her with HIV.
“I had a drug induced psychotic break at Charlie’s after doing drugs with Charlie for that many days,” she reportedly wrote in a text message.
“I couldn’t handle the HIV news. Just 6 months ago I was diagnosed with the eye disease and then Charlie potentially giving me HIV…”
The National Enquirer claimed at least four women have alleged the actor exposed them to the virus.
It was reported last week before his identity was revealed he had spent millions paying for people’s silence including one girl he paid £13,000 a month to.
“Charlie had sex with multiple partner since learning his HIV status without informing them of his potentially deadly HIV infection,” one source is alleged to have told the magazine.
