Say what you will about Donald Trump, but he deserves credit for igniting a conversation about something both parties keep choosing to avoid, illegal immigration. Those on the left are in favor of illegal immigration, while politicians on the right are so worried about upsetting Hispanic voters that they don’t even want to address the subject.
Earlier this week, 32 year old Kate Steinle was walking with her father on a pier in San Francisco when she was shot and killed by 7 time felon illegal alien Fransico Sanchez. Sanchez has been deported 5 times before, and admits the reason he was in San Francisco was because it was a sanctuary city.
Cases like Kate Steinle’s are far from rare. On July 2nd, a man who was deported to Mexico last year but returned to the U.S. illegally allegedly murdered his teenage girlfriend and her 3 year old son. 25 year-old Prudencio Juan Fragos-Ramirez was charged with murdering 18 year-old Maria G. Cruiz-Calvillo and her 3 year-old son Luis F. Lopez-Cruz by first shooting them then setting them on fire. According to coroner reports, the child was likely still alive when he was set him aflame. The child’s fourth birthday would have been this Thursday.
Fragos-Ramirez was arrested hours into the investigation at his home less than a mile from where the bodies were found. He appeared Monday in Franklin County Superior Court in Washington, where Judge Carrie Runge set bail at $1 million.
Runge ordered Fragos-Ramirez, who has previous convictions for DUI and driving while suspended, held for up to 72 hours while prosecutors determine what charges to file. Prosecutors say Fragos-Ramirez was deported in 2014 and got back into the country illegally.
There are no Federal statistic on crimes committed by illegal aliens, but a number of groups have produced estimates based on data collected from independent research. According to statistics released by Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, 12 Americans are killed every day by illegal aliens. If those numbers are correct, it translates to 4,380 Americans murdered every single year by people who should not even be here in the first place. To put that in perspective, in the past 14 years 2,316 Americans were killed in the war in Afghanistan. Illegal aliens are killing nearly TWICE as many Americans every year.
