Matthew DeRemer was a happy-go-lucky man. He was a Marine and loved riding his motorcycle.

His friends tell WTSP that Matthew was a man of faith, and touched the lives of a lot of people.

However, it was New Year’s Eve while Matthew was riding the motorcycle he loved so much, that he was struck by a drunk driver in Largo, Florida.
The former Marine Corps veteran sadly passed away.
Hmmm, nope I'm totally not awake yet, but starting with the day anyway, I love my job!

Just hours before he was killed, Matthew posted a message on his Facebook that perfectly showcased his outlook on life.
The 31-year-old’s post reads:
“I’ve lost, I’ve gained, family is closer and tougher than ever before…loved ones lost, and new friends found. There has been many times where I’ve been found on my knees in prayer for hours (relentless), and other times leading a group of people in prayer. My faith (that I love to share) is an everyday awakening (to me) that people, lives, and circumstances can change for the better OVER TIME.
And I really don’t know where I’ll end up tonight, but I do know, where I windup is where I’m meant to be.”
The man who killed Matthew is being held on DUI manslaughter charges.
The self-described dreamer is now with the Man he called “the center of his life” and it’s exactly where he is suppose to be.
