She’s Taking Hot Dogs To A Whole New Level With This Fun Mini Hot Dog Recipe!

If there’s one thing I love most about summer, it’s the seasonal food!

Grilling up some burgers, mixing together a refreshing salad, and slicing and dicing the juiciest fruits is what I look forward to all year long!

I’ve come across a recipe fromJoCooks.com that will not only add some lovin’ to your summer menu, but its dainty presentation makes it so easy to devour.

Grab the lollipop sticks, because we’re making mini corn dogs for the party!

a

Lollipop sticks? That’s right. You can find these suckers at any grocery store more frequently now ever since cake pops have been the latest craze. Wooden skewers work too. Cut a few hot dogs in half and stick one each with a lollipop stick.

b

To prepare your batter, you’ll need:

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornmeal
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup to ¾ cup milk
  • salt and pepper to taste

Once all this goodness is whisked together in a bowl, pour the batter into a long cup for easy dipping.

c

In a large Dutch oven, pour vegetable oil to a depth of 4 inches and heat to 350 degrees F. Once you’ve dipped your dogs into the batter, place those bad boys into the oil. Ahh, nothing better than the sound of frying food, am I right?

Fry for about two or three minutes or until they’re golden brown. Be sure to let them soak on a paper towel to the side. No need for excess calories.

dServe with mustard, ketchup, or if you’re really in the summer spirit, a side of ranch dressing!

Homemade corn dogs are so much better and the “mini-ness” of this dish won’t overwhelm you with guilt. That is, if you could resist only one … Enjoy!
