Belinda Smith, 41, missed her own senior prom back in 1991 because her family was unable to afford a dress following her mother’s death. “Every day after school leading up to prom I cried, I just wanted to go so bad” she told ABC News.
Now, 24 years later, she’s finally going to get to go. And the guy who asked her is her son, Danotiss.
Danotiss told ABC that he “felt like it was right to ask her cause she couldn’t go to her prom. She couldn’t afford it back then so I thought it would be pretty sweet to ask her.”
“Some of my friends thought it was pretty cool that I’m taking my mom. Some said it’s kind of weird.”
Belinda will finally get her chance to dance tonight. What an incredible mother’s day gift!
