100 years old couple started from High School sweethearts to 80 years of Marriage.
We seldom find true love during high school years. Usually during these years, infatuation is developed. But there are always successful love stories. But there are always successful love stories which started during high school and became really inspiring as their years flourish.
Just like the love story of Billie and Nellie which draw attention to the world aside from the fact of their 80th year in marriage, they also celebrated their 100th birthday together.They are born 4 days apart in 1920. It’s a simple celebration yet very meaningful prepared to them by their family.
Billy shares that his one first meeting from Nellie and with that he was already aware that she was his one true love.
“She was rehearsing for a play in Washington Avenue at Savannah High Mt friend gave her a kind wave and chatted with her.School. Who is that?Would you like to meet her cause shes in my class? He reversed the car,bringing me back and introducing me to Nellie”, Billy shared.
The couple has stayed strong together in eight decades and have surpassed all the good and the bad as a married couple.They are blessed with 8 sons, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
The family planned a nice party but due to corona virus restrictions they decided to make them simple and memorable for them.
Their joint birthday celebration was intimate and safety protocols were observed. The couple sat on the front yard while there is a procession of cars, bikes and golf carts. Some of those brought balloons and a banner that says “Happy Birthday Billie and Nellie.”
“It would be very, very liked if someone could handle this job for us,” Nellie expressed her gratitude. “i’m flabbergasted as well, not because they adore me, but because someone would go through this much trouble .”
They also gave a piece of advice to the teenagers that love, honesty and a lot of effort are required to stay together.
“All I know is to work hard for whoever you’re employed by. And you should go to church,” Billy said.
Nellie has been devoted to the lord and has given advice to teenagers, ” LOVE THE LORD”
Can’t beat dating the same girl in high school then marrying her and sticking with her for 79 years.” Billy added.
