Woman Stunned By Officer’s Note From Traffic Stop

A Georgetown, South Carolina, woman was shocked when she received a special note from an officer who pulled her over on Oct. 25.

Driver Ayla Hemeon shared her story on Facebook and it quickly went viral, with many praising the officer for his kindness.

When he pulled her over, Hemeon explained the situation to the officer.

“I was headed to my parents’ house with Tara to drop off a pumpkin we carved for them,” Hemeon wrote in the Oct. 25 post. “I was in a hurry because we had to get back home so Tara could finish her homework. I didn’t realize I was going over the speed limit until I got pulled over.

“He went back to his police car and I could see him busily writing my ticket,” she continued. “When he came back he told me he was giving me a warning. With a huge sigh of relief, I thanked him and left.”

When she looked at the warning, she noticed a note, from the officer, written at the bottom.

“Thanks for all that you do. You could have spent Sunday alone, but you’re spending it helping your parents and daughter. Have a good day,” the officer’s note read.

Hemeon wrote that she “never expected” to get such a nice message from the officer.

“I can honestly say it made me tear up,” she added. “This officer made my day.”
