Omaree was beaten repeatedly by his mother Synthia Varela-Casaus and his stepfather Steve Casaus. At one point, the situation got out of control and he couldn’t stand it anymore. So he had the strength to secretly call for help. He dialed 911 and left the line open so the dispatcher could hear everything that was happening in his house.
Police officers visited his house once after he made two calls. They spoke with Omaree in front of the people who was beating him, then they left claiming they would file a report but that never happened. 6 months after the 911 call heard in the video below, Omaree passed away. His death was caused by blunt force trauma. The officers are being investigated for breaking protocol.
