Everything was going fine for Harmony Hechey while she stayed at a Travelodge for her out-of-town weekend. But when she stepped into the shower to wash off her day, she spotted something hidden in the vent that made her scream and reach for the towel.

The 23-year-old from Edinburgh, Scotland had traveled to Oxford, England with her work colleagues for a work-related event. The group booked their stay at the Travelodge for the weekend.

But when she got into the shower, she noticed a disturbing sight. There was a hidden camera spying on her from the shower vent.

“I was absolutely disgusted,” she said, according to Mirror.co.uk. “I got a fork and stuck it in the vent. You could see so clearly it was a camera.”

Hechey called her colleagues and they all confirmed that it indeed was a hidden camera. It was pointed to the exact spot someone would stand to take a shower.

“I broke down at one point,” she said. “I just felt so violated.”

She took photos and went to the front desk to report it.

Upon investigation, it appears someone installed the webcam via a maintenance unit adjacent to the room.

When the police arrived, they discovered that the camera wasn’t switched on. They are now on a manhunt to discover who planted the device in the hotel room.

The hotel gave Hechey a new room and a full refund.

See what Hechey has to say about the incident in the interview below.

But is that enough? Should she sue Travelodge for infringing on her privacy?
